Sunday 3rd April will be the official open meeting.
2 races back to back, 2 to count.
12.05 start down river, committee boat start, so allow 20-30 minutes to get there.

As we are again sharing with the Phantoms 2 day meeting the invite is open to anyone who wishes sail on the saturday as well.
This will be 11.35 start from the club line, 2 races and we will award a prize to the boat with the best 3 results over the 2 days.

Camping is available at the club Friday (when the bar will be open) and Saturday and bar/food will be provided Saturday night as well as evening entertainment.
Please post or email me if you are coming, if you are camping and if you want food at the club Saturday night, etc, thanks

Whilst the boat is still for sale, due a slight mishap on sunday concerning a muddy bottom and a rapidly falling tide it will now be sporting a brand new mast when I can get one delivered!

Hi,
I unpacked the bags last night and Matt has left his spray top at Hykeham.
It is a red RONSTAN top and virually new condition.
Last seen drying on the decking railings on Saturday evening.
If anybody has seen this or taken it by mistake can they let me know.
Thanks
Simon

Am feeling decidely depressed at present. Whilst sailing the Icebreaker on sunday fell over (again) whilst tacking and bent my Thumb back, ouch. Finished the race as you do and suffered in silence. Monday thumb was swollen so a trip to casualty showed a break. Not just any simple break, the section of bone the ligaments had attached to had pulled away and lodged in the joint.
Attended Fracture clinic today and a going straight into surgery tomorrow morning to have the two bits srewed back together. Very impressive NHS but not nice.
Even worse consultant suggested it would be at least 4 months before i should consider sailing again. Too many ropes to pull and risk of permanent damage. So it looks like the Burton Week entry may be on hold.
Now you know why the boat is up for sale. I need something a bit less dangerous. Vintage maybe......

Its time to come to this pretty corner of Essex and try your hand a tidal river racing.
Think you are good enough? Then come on down.
Saturday 19th September. start of first race 12 noon.
2 races, with Lunch break inbetween, both to count for the overall prize. As usual there will also be a prize for the first AC boat.
Lunch is provided within the entrance fee.  I would tell you what this is but Penny hasn't done the maths yet, however it is unlikely to be much more than £6 to £7.00.
Please help out by indicating here if you are planning to attend and Penny can work out the maths!
If you want to stay over and do some River racing at Henley on the following day let us know and we can arrange camping at the club.

I notice the Burton Website shows the 'dress as a twelve party' for Saturday night and 'Crews union' for Sunday.
Thorpe Bay website shows 'dress as a twelve party' for Sunday night, Barbq for Sat.
Which is correct?
Wouldn't want to turn up for the barbq dressed as a twelve!

I like the comment on the Met office web site for the Brton week(end)
There is a possibility of some quite high temperatures for the southeast next Friday. Into the following week, and the weather remains unsettled for most. However, it may become drier and warmer for some southern and southeastern areas.
Its the Sothend-on-Sea micro-climate, I hope!

Having seen all the notes about pre entry for the Gill event at Sunny Hunny, I duly sent of my entry for the first weekend.  I cannot do the whole week for work commitments.
At the club on Sunday there was mention of an entry list on the NWNSA website and that entry were already almost at their limit!
I visited the site today, couldn’t find a list but did see this note on the front page:
NOTE : WEEKLY ENTRIES WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY OVER DAY ENTRIES TILL JULY 6th
Does this mean that I (and I am sure there are others) may be refused entry to a N12 Gill event due to limits imposed by NWNSA and Hunny council? Or am I worrying about it unnecessarily.
I wait with interest to see if my entry is confirmed this week.

Browsing the t'internet as you do when bored at work I came across these 3 12's on Boats&outboards.co.uk:
No. 2102 Squid design £265 in Sunderland
No. ???? Clinker circa 1955 FOC to good Home - Cumbria (resist the urge Tim!)
No. ???? Street Legal £350 - Scotland, must be someone at olton wants it.
Of down shed now to see if Hull is dry yet, why does it decide to snow the minute I start painting the boat in an unheated shed?

Just a note to add to Jim's post in the For Sale Section.
The sails are in my office in Southend-on-sea, Essex (keeping warm & dry).
If anyone wants photos, measurements let me know.
They realy are like brand new.
I did try them on my boat but the did not suit the Carbon Mast (but I was still quicker than with my old sails?!, long conversation with Kevan Bloor has now cost me a lot of money!), so I would only recommend for a Aluminium Mast.

Am travelling to Cheshire on 27th December for afew days, so could deliver on route.
Grab yourself a Bargin.

I need a new Combi trailer.
Does anybody have any recommendations where I can get one at a good price, i.e. cheap and reliable.
Would be interested if anyone has a double stacker for sale if I go with plan B.
