I believe the start time is 13.00 and not 12.00 as provisionally noted earlier in this thread.

Whilst the hardy Thames Area N12 sailors are chomping at the bit for this weekend's Ranelagh Winter Race and hoping the thermometer might rise above zero, thoughts turn to spring, which has been known to (occasionally) make an appearance at the annual Hamble Warming Pan regatta, this year taking place on 16th/17th March and offering the chance of a final tune up before the GUL Series kicks off at Burghfield the following weekend.

The first Hamble Warming Pan regatta was held in 1962 when there were just two competing classes, Merlin Rockets and National 12 dinghies. Over the years the invite list expanded until eight classes were invited to attend in 2002. Racing is held in the lower reaches and mouth of the River Hamble and is run by Hamble River Sailing Club, based near the centre of Hamble village. Racing will start and finish on the Hamble River Sailing Club line for Merlin Rocket (Sunday only), Firefly, National 12, Enterprise, Albacore & Foxer classes. NOR will be posted on the club website. Visitors to the village will be able to watch the competing dinghies at many vantage points along the river banks. On Saturday night the club will be hosting an event with plenty of food and drink to go round.

Briefing 10.30 Sat

 1st start 11.30 Sat, 11.00 Sun

2 races Sat, 2 races Sun

 £25 entry

There will be a one day entry fee. It's normally set at just over 50% of the two day entry

Bacon rolls available in club from 09.30

Evening meal in the club on Saturday night

For those of us conversant with this new fangled Twitter thing, I'll be trying to remember to post from @Nat12Sailing at the BM tomorrow....with a gap in the middle obviously for sailing, thawing out etc. So please follow @Nat12Sailing..also hashtag #GJWSailjuice for news feeds and early results. Who thought sailing could be this exciting eh?

7 12s entered (and 1 EPS), record total advance entry, challenging forecast...should be fun. One 12 is already rigged and ready to go....

I just entered and THEN checked the forecast for Sat which is currently.... 17-33mph easterly, 1 degree celsius, heavy snow.

At least launching will be easy.

18 entries now and a pretty competitive fleet I'd say. Website has our entry wrong at the moment - I'll be helming with either Alex or Sophie crewing depending on the weather, which is looking pretty mixed at the moment. Very much looking forward to it.

Slightly related to this thread, can anyone advise the dimensions of the restriction on horizontal foil size as proposed (and passed I think) at the AGM.

Am I correct in thinking that BW 2012 is planned to be at Hayling Island over the Jubilee/Whit Weekend?
Sad as it may seem, I need to make some plans now if it is.
