I have just "adopted" N3000...my mainsheet trimmer on my Sigma 38 has given her to me...
Now stripped of all the fittings I am commencing a full refurbishment. I have quite a lot of work to do. There are a few holes and soft bits in the floor, bus I think she can be rescued. The decks are ok.

I'd like to hear from other Pipedream owners as I have some suspicions about the shape of the 3rd plank each side just forward of the thwart. There's an interesting twist, which might be cunning design, or a permanent inward deflection from 30 years sitting on a badly designed and ill matched trolley.

Tim Tomlinson sold me this beautifully varnished Tigress in 1987. She was my first National 12. I had been sailing a Europe for a number of years and fancied the 12 for aesthetic reasons as a worthy step up to teach my girlfiend to sail. We sailed at Earlswood lakes in Birmingham and on the open meeting circuit.

We renamed her Persephone, and learned huge amounts in her, including how to right a capsized '12, before taking the plunge and getting a new Crusader '88 from Gerry Ledger.

One memorable day at Porchester, a shroud broke and gave us a fright. We met several good friends campaigning her in 1987 and 1988, including David and Jenny Knight who sailed a similar all varnished boat.

p.s. Now sailing a Sigma 38 called Persephone. The girl in question is now my wife and the navigator.

This one's a cracker. She was my first new 12, supplied as a bare hull by Gerry Ledger in March 1989. This was (arguably) the height of the '80s Viz era and her original name was a cheeky "Johnny Fartpants".

Winner of the Parkstone Plate in 1989 and lots of placings in open meetings in '89 and '90.

This boat was first owned by Chris Wright. Interestingly, I sold my second 12 to Chris and then had the opportunity to buy this blue and yellow foolish from him in early 2003.

Currently, she's on loan to Steve Norbury and Andy Hill, and sailing in the sunshine at Burton Week at Brixham
