Hi Everyone, looking forward to welcoming you to Welland Yacht Club on the 4th July. The first of three races kicks off at 11.30am.

Directions to the club can be found at http://www.wellandyachtclub.co.uk/contact_us.htm the Google map also give you a pretty good indication of the water we sail on. Narrow but varied and long, really improves the tacking skills! The event was new to the circuit last year but proved very popular with those that attended

We plan to provide rolls for lunch within the entry fee (£10) as well a bacon sandwiches before the start. If anyone wishes to camp over on the Saturday there's plenty of room at the club just let me know in advance.

To assist with organisation can those attending post a reply please,
look forward to seeing as many of you as possible

Hi, My grown up daughter and I sail a 12 (a feeling foolish) on a very restricted river with an all up crew weight pretty similar to yours and do pretty well (comfortably beating all of our Laser Fleet boat for boat. It's a much more exciting boat than any of the two sail boats around but tacks and accelerates very quickly. At the top end of the national 12 circuit you may be a little over weight but in handicap racing you should be very competitive

Hi,
I had the same problem when I first got the FF, tried a number of solutions which didn't work so finally bit the bullet and went for the solution you are describing and haven't looked back, to the point where I'd forgotten I'd made the change.
unless anyone has the information to hand I can take some measurements and photos at the weekend and send them through.  I received all the infomation from a friendly N12 sailor at Hykeham, he sent me photos measurements and even a spare metal rod! (I think he got the information from Graham Camm originally)
From memory the rod is about 10mm thick, (thin enough for a block to run on it but thick enough to drill a hole through it at each end) it's around 20cm long,
The rod is bolted to the boom with very small bolts but big washers!) There is a slot cut along the boom with the bolt hole at either end of the slot
