Does anybody know the whereabouts of this 12? Ian gregory is a family friend and I remember sailing this fine 12 at Weston with him a good few years ago.

Due to a lack of anybody willing to sail with me I have little choice but to sell Avalon.
If anybody wants a sound race ready boat she is more than ready and has only been raced once since restoration :o I will being stuck sailing laser talking to myself ;D

I will be coming with something, sadly not avalon due to time and work commitments. Could be CC!
Any idea of a kick of time for the Saturday? Couldn't see much when we looked. ...

Hi Jim,
Have some sails for you that would fit the bill. Welcome to the class :) I too am a crusader sailor, can share set up photos if you need them.

Well it's been a good day and I have found a neat way of making it work keeping to the hook block and purchase system.
Thanks for your kind offer we will see if we can make it to the four plank open the week before. Need some shake downs as I estimate her last trip out would be measured in years!

That is the issue I thought about and can only think of buying 2 hook racks or a longer than standard item as normally seen. Photos would be handy always nice to see. I have a design 8+ and a paradigm to hand but they are both on the more complex side of layout.
I am based in Southampton sailing on Southampton water. Will have another look at her today as she has some events to attend. First 12 one will be the 12 fest hopefully!

Thanks guys confirms my thoughts over the years of rigging with other classes.
My 3317 had a purchase and hook arrangement just as you mentioned but on going down the keep it simple route the old hook rack maybe a simpler / tidier option.
Any photos as and when much appreciated. Always reluctant to get trigger happy with the drill on a bare boat and nice to see the most favoured method.

On fit out of Avalon, undecided on the best route for forestay tensioning. Can anybody share photos of a good set up be it purchases, hook or lever? All thoughts and advice welcome.
Google is not coming up trumps and I'm the only 12 at my club!

3317 is looking for a new home.
Being offered as a bare hull ready to re fit / tidy up. Have had some good results over the past weeks with her, very solid boat and too good to leave sitting around.

If they were any good performance wise we would see the on dcbs and paradigms.
Hopefully  my photos helped see an alternative safe route should you want to go belt and braces.

I have done just this and can advise on the pro's and cons.

Without stiffness is reduced considerably but I found a great way around it. Happy to explain and show photos of process. Feel free to message me for my email address.
