Guess everyone there has been too busy enjoying the fine weather to make any results known!!  Did find out Jo Richards won the Burton Cup - well done with the new design.  Looked on the TBYC site and not found any results there either.

Had a massive garage clear up / clear out at the weekend and sorted through a few sails I have collected up in the rafters.  Have one full set of Hydes (ex 3339) - dacron jib, not sure of the material in the main but its not dacron!  I guess main would have been for the old metal mast and as I recall are quite flat cut.  Jib seems quite crispy still - although set is quite old it has not been used much since I bought the boat.
Also spare Ulmans jib - also seems quite stiff stiff but I've never used it so can't vouch for it in anyway.
These could be collected / posted off before BW (unfortunately there's no way I can make BW due to work / other personal circumstances).  We live just 10mins or so from Junct 16 M4 so could meet up around there.
Post here if you are interested and I'll get some more details / agree prices.

Also if anyone wants a slow cooker, 2 slice toaster, blender, various items of boys clothing (under 3) and various other stuff I cleared out then its all got to go!!

Had a call from a local chap (in his 70s or so) - has a Paper Dart (checked the boat list) its a Warlock design...N2642, GRP hull and has been re-decked in the last couple of years.  Seems to be complete, last sailied approximately 18 months ago.  Has 2 sets of sails (no idea of age / condition), alu rig, road trailer and trolley (probably not combi).  New tyres on the trailer plus a couple of 'life jackets' too.
He hasn't access to the internet and was trying to find best place to sell and advice on the price.  I would have thought around £500 maybe??  What do folks think about that??
Boat is based in Pewsey - South Wiltshire.  Maybe able to pop down and see in a couple of weeks time as I need to be down that way.

The South Cerney Open (SW & Thames area) is on Saturday 6th Sepetember.  NOR will be up very soon but first race will 11am.  3 races on the day.  South Cerney is near to Cirencester - about 20 mins north of Junction 15 or 16 from M4.
If you are coming can you let me know so I can pass numbers on.
Thanks,

Kean

Is there a PY adjustment factor recommended for single handed sailing?  Assume that a Club is using the NTOA recommended age PYs - is there any numbers to use for s/h only?  Only ask 'cos the Weds race I did last week I got away with the main h'cap - but first time out was 'intersting' :-/ to sail on own.
Should we allow s/h at Open events then?  If the Gill events allowed s/h would we see any increase in attendance?  Should we promote the s/h with their own prizes at BW / Gill events?  Other 'similar' fleets allow s/h Fireflies / Mirrors as examples do this.

Here's a thread from Y&Y site relevant to our forum discussion - someone returning to sailing with a child crew - intersting opinions as to what others think of the 12 and give us some pointers on what we need to do.  Quite a bit of support for the 12 - could we make more direct contacts with them in offering advice, try the boat etc.

I have not been able to correctly register on this site for some reason, can read only :(

N3415 is up for sale, Wild Front Ear design, first DB - see for sale section for details.  Boat will be up at Hykeham this weekend - on loan to me!  Had first sail in her yesterday - solo racing in a handicap fleet - seemed to set up and go OK!!  Sail # being used is 3490 as Nigel swapped a suit of sails between his boats.  Its red with wood decks - feel free to view or arrange a spin whilst its there.

After having finally fully stripped out the boat I need to do a repair to the gunwhales - need a 2 foot or so piece of sycammore to replace whats been 'eaten away' - anyone have any or any ideas on where I can purchase such wood?
Its a Ledger built Crusader 88 if that helps.
Thanks,

Noticed a couple of you are after masts - this boat on eBay has a spare - either bid on it or maybe contcat owner and see if the 'new' owner wants to sell one off.

Not sure why the link is not pasting correctly - got to be quick as auction ends today.

Anyone know when the actual 70th Burton would be sailed (war years missed a few) and I can't find my class history book to work it out.

Can we set up a N12 map using our NTOA mail address to link to a new Google account - would be cool to see where all the 12s are sailing now - link to the N12 boatdatabase too??

Looks like a recent ad (?) - another boat from the Bristol fleet (based on the picture) - anyone know the number?  Wondering why they don't use the 12 site to sell???

Funky paint job and seems well priced to sell.
