I first sailed Max Factor at the Abersoch Nationals in 2005 Crewing for John Meadowcroft (who was the original owner).
I bought Max Factor in 2016 from Jon Whitehead. Jon had done the 2011 Brightlingsea Nationals with a new suit of sails and a composite craft foiling rudder.
Max Factor has since been sailed (semi- regularly) at Sutton Bingham Reservoir as well as doing some Gul series events and the Nationals every year.

Patrick is now not able to come for family reasons so I need a helm or someone who is willing to crew for me in a paper dart.

I will be there with Eric (2812) and two friends who have nagging me to take them dinghy sailing.

Someone at my sailing club has had a note from someone needing to give away a lovely vintage National 12. This boat has some history and won Burton week many years ago. It is currently owned by the original designer/builder/winner and says: The original "Squid". N1664 built 1960 ish in almost perfect as new condition is available as a gift to a good home. Only needs a couple of buoyancy bags and a bit of work on the rig. Kept under cover. Glued ply construction, varnish in good cond. recipient collects from Poole area, no cover or trailer.”

For those travelling to trent valley next weekend, there is no access to the A52 eastbound from M1 J25.

Use either junction 24 or 26. ( If coming from J26 be aware that there are roadworks on the junction of the A52 and B6003 and you can only turn left onto the A52).
