Indeed, for January it was an incredibly beautiful day. The sun shone and breeze blew consistently enough to avoid any backwards motion. Tricky shifty winds required constant vigilence and trimming but rewarding when you felt you made every puff count.

Big hand to Mike & Anne and their helper, + Chris & Alison Edwards, for the oustanding lunch and entertainment. Much appreciated.

A Grand Day out it was.

Hi Tim,

Great to hear of N12's reaching across 'the pond'.

If you'd like to discuss plans for any of my 3 designs. "Feeling Foolish", "Numinous" and the third one with no design name yet please get in touch on my email

Great to hear about the exciting racing in Salcombe. Top marks for write ups Dave - keep 'em coming. Looks like Salcombe is shaping up to be as exciting a Burton Week, good luck to everyone for the rest of the week.

However all this fantastic sailing is giving me huge withdrawl symptoms. Have to get out on the water soon...

Thanks to all that turned up on Sunday. For those that didn't, you missed one of the best days at Ranelagh for a long tiime. 33 deg C weather, a F2-3 from the S S-E which meant it aligned with the river and gave a fantstic race.

After an unfortunately light wind start when just about the whole fleet were caught out on the wrong side of the line, Will Henderson and Fran got away first and had a right old ding dong of a battle all the way round. Never separated by more than a few boat lengths for the entire race with the lead swapping several times. Great racing and spectating. The rest of us all got away and proceeded to have a fantastic race for third. I cant remeber a better race at Ranelagh for a long time.
