My flap is not rigid perspex but i think polycarbonate type food / packaging stuff - stiffer than the wallet type material but probably just as light.  Sail tape deffo makes a good / light / cheap hinge.

Also have very thin perspex sheet - have one big flap for Crusader - avoids problem of water coming in when launching backwards!  Its very light and hinged off mylar sail tape across the rear bar.  Guess would work the same for flaps.  I still have some left from the sheet I scrounged from a local packaging company!  Let me know the approx sizes and I think i can send you off a couple of squares in an A4 envelope.  No need for any shock cord and stuff like that - my current piece lasted a couple of seasons - cheap as chips.

Small water withlots of camping around - could go for one of the Cotswold lakes - take your pick there are at least 4, 2 that have 12s on them...  Albacores had their Inlands on one of the lakes too recently.  New hotel opened up within walking distance for those that like the luxuries.  Go cable water skiiing nearby and even Go Ape (same stuff different name).

Yorkshire Dales aka Grimwith will have their new build finished soon - big bit of water but no camping on site - but there are local places around.   Plenty of water for lots of 12s there and quite a few members there were ex 12 sailors.

Can you camp at Spinnaker - the Club seems to have the largest fleet in the Country.....??????

Wow!  What a great looking boat!!  Is this built along similar lines to the Swift Solo Class? http://www.swiftsolo.org/
What is the material cost (approx.) for the complete hull and how long did it take to put together??

They probably didn't qualify for the tubs trophy!!
Is DCB now end main - thought it was set up with a centre main hoop, with some sort of auto adjust traveller?

Guess everyone there has been too busy enjoying the fine weather to make any results known!!  Did find out Jo Richards won the Burton Cup - well done with the new design.  Looked on the TBYC site and not found any results there either.

Glad to hear emz crusader is going well.
Jib sale is agreed too.

Still have the jib if anyone wants it - maybe for an older vintage boat?

Hydes have been sold and will be on their way to sunny Spinnaker very soon.
#12
The US jib was measured 7/8/90 - I think I got this with a mast a few years ago and I have nver used it.  No bag and window / sail all seem to be in good order.  £15 plus any postage would do it.

FYI - the Hydes are dated 3/5/97 - I have used them a few times since I got N3339 a few years ago.  Still in good condition (unlike my jib for a mirror which got gnawed by mice!!  Our cat regularly kills small fury things so don't know how these got into a sailbag up inthe garage roof!!).

Had a massive garage clear up / clear out at the weekend and sorted through a few sails I have collected up in the rafters.  Have one full set of Hydes (ex 3339) - dacron jib, not sure of the material in the main but its not dacron!  I guess main would have been for the old metal mast and as I recall are quite flat cut.  Jib seems quite crispy still - although set is quite old it has not been used much since I bought the boat.
Also spare Ulmans jib - also seems quite stiff stiff but I've never used it so can't vouch for it in anyway.
These could be collected / posted off before BW (unfortunately there's no way I can make BW due to work / other personal circumstances).  We live just 10mins or so from Junct 16 M4 so could meet up around there.
Post here if you are interested and I'll get some more details / agree prices.

Also if anyone wants a slow cooker, 2 slice toaster, blender, various items of boys clothing (under 3) and various other stuff I cleared out then its all got to go!!

Another gov't stealth tax - just like when the 3g spectrum was sold off (although not so much pity for them as big companies paid way too much) but in the end we pay for it one way or another.
