Title: Burton Week Accommodation
Post by: Kevin on 26 Feb 2009, 02:41
I understand some people are finding that some of the accommodation listed on the BW web-site is now full, so I have put together the additional list attached. I have no idea of availability, but with the air-show on I recommend everyone gets booked in quickly.

No, but it would be help to know if this is your intention so we can reserve enough space.

Margaret and I would like space for a dome tent with porch.  A bit worried how to get into white tie and tails for the Burton dinner in the confines of a tent though!

Hi Kevin,
After enjoying the sun and socail at Annandale Mrs P is showing interest in BW. Is there space still space to camp on annexed field and if so is there room to pitch a family frame tent?

There is no way we will run out of camping space. The reason for asking people to indicate their intention to camp it to try to make the car free area the big enough without pushing vehicles to the far corner unnecessarily. So the answer is yes!

Thats it then Chris you really do have to get your rudder to stay down.  Look forward to seeing you at Thorpe Bay, I am sailing my vintage so you should leave us for dead this time!  Make sure you enter this week and save a few bob. Howard  PS Sarah wants to do a watercolour from your early morning Annandale picture do we have any copyright issues?

Lets try that again shall we...

I know there is good food at the clubhouse but in anticipation of the fine weather that Kevin has ordered will barbecues and fire pits be allowed on the camping field?

NO!! Afraid barbeques and open fires are not permitted by the council. However, there will be a barbeque laid on at the club on Saturday evening free of charge to competitors.

We'll be needing a spot on the field for dome tent big enough to swing an elephant in!

Post by: John Hugo on 12 May 2009, 02:54
I will probably be wanting space for a small tent, not big enough to swing a cat.    My reasons are similar to Fuzzy Duck's, though I don't live just up the road.

Should be more space now, Consultant has advised only 'light sailing' for the next 6 weeks so Team Roly and the Daisy Bus have reluctantly had to pull out.  :'(  V disappointed and we hope everyone has a fantastic time and that the new format is judged to be a huge success!

I would like to up my number to two small tents instead of one please, not for all my sailing kit but for my crews comfort! They are both only small though so shouldnt take much more space than the one i would have thought.

cheers
