Title: Twickenham Open Meeting
Post by: Alistair Edwards on 07 Sep 2009, 08:56
The Twickenham N12 Open Meeting takes place on Sunday September 27.

Three races. Best two to count.

Trophies for overall winner and first Admiral's Cup boat. First race will start at 11am.

The bar will be open and there will be lunches available.

For location information etc see the Twickenham Yacht Club club website (www.twickenhamyc.co.uk)

Visitors can launch from the hard in front of the White Swan pub. There is
usually plenty of parking available adjacent to the launch area.

The revival of the National 12s at Twickenham is continuing with the fleet
now up to 6 boats  (having been down to just two a few years ago).

At the 2008 Open Meeting in spite of some  horrible weather we had a fleet of 8
boats. I am hoping we might get an even larger turn out this year.

Flipside, Anne and I will be there and will be bringing back the trophy.  Looking forward to it, as long as the weather improves on last year, when I reckon we did about 200 tacks and gybes in the day, as the wind went round and round while the rain fell from the sky.

Hi Mike. I am glad to hear that you can make it.

Any kind of weather would be better than what we had to endure last year!

I am gradually getting the hang of sailing a National 12, so hopefully I will not be stuck at the back of the fleet this year.
