Better watch out Angus he could be onto the NSPCC if you are not careful (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Crews).
Maybe this could explain a certain reluctance on his part to join in with the N12 Racing Programme - have you tried more positive approaches to motivation??! (or perhaps this is an attempt to get him used to the cramped conditions in the front end of a 12.)

ah thats far  more spacious that the front of any 12 * note must get smaller box next time*

Angus, is he not too heavy to be a dangly pole, or are you swapping crew & pole for tactical reasons ?  Hope not, as it is difficult enough to persuade the youngsters to crew for me, they seem to think that a 505 is safer than a 12  :o  probably as it can't turn over  ??)

I have seen this before. They usually come in pairs.
