It is with much regret that I report the death of my father on Sunday 11th September. Some of the longer serving 12 sailors will remember him from sailing in the 70s and 80s Dad started sailing at the age of 42 (1973)buying a 'Mr Jones' from David Sallis which is where the family passion for sailing started. He sailed a 12  for about 10 years buying a 'Havoc' and then a Cheshire cat in 1980ish which I still own.He then started sailing an Enterprise with mother. They were both a familiar sight at Burton week while John Holttum was PRO as John always wanted their assistance (usually recording finishing positions). He was still regularly club racing at Ely until this year when he became to weak.He always loved the 12s and was thrilled to see the videos and pictures of all our children sailing at Burton week. I'm not sure any other class would have produced the media in time for him to see it and for that I will always be grateful.Gerald 3411
