Yes - definitely!
Burton SC - definitely!
20/21 June good for me
27/28 June good for me
4/5 July couldn't do.
11/12 July - possible but have to be back in Bradford by 6pm on the Saturday.
Format as previous years - seems to work well
Hope that helps and a big thank you again to all on the organisation team and Burton SC for another fantastic event this weekend.
Tim

Would love to try and make it....last weekend of June has always been an issue for me as children needed collected from the various schools at the end of term, that said son has now finished school! Earlier in June or May would suit me as a preference to later in the year...

Might try and join in next year. N 1002 Amante at long last went sailing last Sunday for the first time in over 30 years. did feel a bit strange sailing a wobbly boat again.

Big thanks to Burton Sailing Club and all involved in making this event happen it was another good event.
Yes please let's do it again, the format is fine, the date is ok for me but too early to confirm if I can make it currently.  Must avoid other opens if we want to include our top helms so late May to early July avoiding clashes with other key 12 events if possible.  Not sure we can miss all the balls referred to in the initial post by Paul as he seems to go to so many.8)

Paul, firstly my apologies for missing this year's event, Dinsdale still isn't ready yet - some parts on order have still arrive to allow safe yotting!

For next year I have been 'given notice' of a family wedding for the last weekend of June, apart from that Dinsdale should be there :-/

Is there likely to be racing for 4-plankers? If so it would be a good incentive to get 2935 back in commision again :)

Now there's a chalenge David, Close to the Edge or Dinsdale?

Both looking in their prime (boats that is not me!) and enjoying being on the water - Salcombe?

Hi John, Yes I suspect the boats have aged better than the owners! It would be nice to get out again. We expected to see you in Salcombe at the beginning of July taking photo's (yes we have more than one old boat now!). Hope all is well - Dave

Hi Dave

We did consider having racing for four plankers but felt that this would dilute the interest in the clinker vintage boats especially as several people have both types of N12. Hence the HD Sails Four Plank Mini Series!

There are currently several old four plankers under restoration to my knowledge including Jono Clipsham's "Black Cat" at TVSC and John Wood's Cheshire Cat down near Swindon. So David, see you next year at the 4P series?

Just been looking a the picture of Dinsdale's restoration, wow what a great job Kevin has done!! You must be very pleased John? What a beautiful boat.
I see only 8 12's at SYC Regatta this year. What a shame, we used to get near 40 not that long ago. Why don't the 12's do Salcombe? ...120 odd Merlins this year.

We love Burton.  Great venue, lovely friendly club, accessible and the camping on site is a bonus.   Mid summer is good for us, this year Ellie chose to do the 12 event rather than the Tera Inlands - they are 20 and 21 June next year and my guess is she'd choose 12's again if there was a clash, and yes she has forgiven B for being over the line (eventually!).

Burton SC confirmed for Inland Vintage Champs in 2015 on 27th and 28th June
Put the date in your diaries now
We would like to encourage more ribbed boats to sail at this event and, whilst you may not own one of these beautiful craft, I have a small 'collection' of seaworthy vessels with modern sails and rigging, available for one or both days, depending on your preference.  (see N341, N493, N711 and N1183 in the N12 Boat Database)
Give me a call if you are interested and book yourself a boat - we can discuss transport and insurance nearer the time.
It would be interesting to see some of our double-bottom fleet leaders doing battle in ribbies in 2015 - now there is no clash with Harwich YC Open what reason have you got not to be there?!  Just take it easy on the rig tension boys!
My number as always is 07944 300749
I look forward to hearing from you
Tim

Talking to Kevan I hear that there was a suggestion that we swap the sailing formats?
In other words, the Derwent Handicap racing on the Sunday, open racing on the Saturday.
Any views on this? Px 8)

I think one thought was that the handicaps for the pursuit races could also take account of the timings from the three non handicap races as well to get a fairer figure.
The other comments I heard were on the fact that under the "Derwent System" it is essential that all three races are the same length to be fair.  Best achieved with shorter laps perhaps or a rolling finish?  The perception on last year was that races 2 and 3 were shorter than race 1 benefitting the earlier starters, not sure if that is true or not.
Happy either way personally so possibly not that helpful as a comment Paul.  8)
