Lovely to see that Surface tension is being restored at Simon Hipkin Boats in Essex in early 2015. Quote and pics from their website.
"Simon acquired Surface Tension last year in a very sad state, having been left out in the elements for a number of years. This was one of the original Bob Hoare Final Chapters with large buoyant rudder and was a very successful boat in the early 90s in the hands of Steve Adshead, with a number of championship race wins to her name. The deck and gunwales were beyond repair and there is significant rot to the hog and lower part of transom, although the hull is largely sound. She is now stripped back and ready to go. We will keep updating photos as work progresses".
