Title: sails for learners

Can anybody advise on sail type for a beginner to learn on ,as a full racing set daunt me at the moment,and does anybody have any old practice sails they do not use???.

hmmm i do have two sails that are not used, well only when very windy(derwent). One is a 2000 cut main from P&B and a 2002 nJib from P&B. I also have a main sail hardley used that is cut for a needle spa mast, old i know but was only used 2 times!!!. email me if u want any further info on Jimmy_n12@hotmail.com

I've not owned a lot of sails - but comparing my current alverbanks against my ullmans - I think you'll find ullmans easier to handle just because they aren't cut so full. They give good speed upwind but are not as powerful as the alverbanks offwind. That might be appealing.
