The Twickenham N12 Open meeting takes place on Sunday October 5.
3 races with the best 2 to count. 1st race starts at 11am.
After reaching a low point of just 2 boats the Twickenham N12 fleet is now back up to 5. We are hoping for a substantial number of visitors so that we can tempt a few more sailors into the class, Watching this event from the support boat last year convinced me that it was time to sell my Enterprise and start sailing a 12.
We will have a photographer on the water throughout the event. He uses a very high tech digital camera and produces fantastic sailing photos.
You can find further information about TYC at www.twickenhamyc.co.uk
We hope to be there in our old Cheshire Cat. With all this changeable weather this year racing on the river has been excellent. A good turnout will help boost the revival of the 12's at TYC. Lovely big silver pot to race for which dates back to 1935 and is one of the oldest trophies in the class.

Flipside and I are planning to be there with guest crew.

It's just possible that a certain Aardvark Feeling Foolish might get there too.
Cheers
Don't forget that it's also the final race in the Thames Area, so a last chance to score some points...(http://www.national12.org/blahdocs/Smilies/smiley.gif)
Just for reassurance, I have the trophy (from John Thornton) and will be bringing it along.

Sounds like Mr Thorton won't be along to defend this year - shame!
I still hope to be there, there are just a few crew and babysitting hurdles that need to be addressed!
Dave, do you know whether that are any local spare crews?
Cheers, John
Hi John,
Caroline (my eldest) might be up for crewing but she's in demand! Let me know.
Regards, Dave
For those of you who have never sailed on the Thames at Twickenham (or who have forgotten what it looks like) you may like to watch the video I shot from the support boat at this event 12 months ago.

Wind conditions were very light last year but my long range tea leaf
forecast shows there is a good prospect of much breezier conditions for
October 5!
If anyone is planning on coming but has crew difficulties let me know, one of my daughters may be available. Both are very experienced Cadet sailors and have crewed 12's and Merlins a lot.
Latest forecasts predict F4/F5 for Sunday.
Should be great fun! ;D
Anybody else coming out to play?
Thanks to all the hardy sailors who turned out on a horrible wet day. I will be posting an event report shortly. Just sorting out a few photos.
