Title: Dangley poles
Post by: angus on 08 Mar 2006, 08:28
Hi I've read the bit on the web site about dangly poles, but how long should the pole be. I am in a National 12 desert up here in Perthshire.

Have not measured mine..... but I think 1.6m is the answer.

The safe answer on these questions is often the same.  Call P&B on 01604 592808 and ask for Tom.  Pretend you want to buy the item, and ask for details such as optimum length.  You can then excuse yourself by saying you will get back to him.

In any case Tom does not usually mind answering questions about 12 kit even if there is no sale in it for him.  None of us know the answer as we all buy them from him!

One tip, this week he is only in Northampton on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I made mine, it's 1.5 m and thats too short as it turns out. John is about right at 1.6m. Anything shorter causes early backwinding of the Jib. Too long is not really a problem.
