N.2301, "Saranac", was, like her sister ship N.2300, launched in the Spring of 1965, by her owner John Bugbee, later a chairman of the Class Association. Saranac sailed in the Burton Week of that year, but did not do very well. In 1966, John took part with Saranac at the National Twelve's sailing week at La Rochelle, France.
Saranac sailed in all the Burton Weeks from 1967 to 1971 but did not attain any particularly high placings. Somewhere around this time N.2301 had her name changed to "Vindaloo". In due course she was owned by a Mr Saunders of Hook, Hampshire.

A few years ago N.2301 was noted to be in on sale in the Lymington area, but then disapeared from view. She has recently come into the ownership of a Mr Geoff Fardell of the Hampshire area, who may be able to add more imformation of the boat's recent years.
