Hi Paul, Regarding queries about wood used for NAT 12s.Wyche& Coppock used so-called West African mahogany as opposed to genuine Honduras mahogany. The same wood was used throughout, except for ash or rock elm ribs & tillers and sycamore or spruce for deck trim. It varied in colour, and was purchased as logs which were then sawn to their requirements. W & C sometimes used woodstains on repairs where the original wood had bleached or darkened through weather.
Mike is working on W & C history! sincerely Mike & Anne
