Over 100 past and present members of the NTOA enjoyed a lovely meal and a superb slide slow on Saturday night.  The former members who turned up early got to see the current fleet practising their heavy weather sailing, and some even took part in the racing.  After sailing people talked, looked at memorabilia, drank beer (lots of it!) and we managed to find seats for everyone to sit down together and eat.  Once the food was out of the way we saw Brian Miatt being presented with the Ribbed Boats Cup and then were entertained by Howard Steavenson with yet more of Robin's wonderful slides.  Particularly amusing was the picture of a boat standing on it's bow as it came ashore at Tynemouth - a voice from the back of the room said 'that was me' which really made us all laugh.  A fantastic night had by all - our greatful thanks to Howard Chadwick for tracking down so many old friends and to Howard Steavenson for his pictures. :D
