Title: Self bailers
Post by: angus on 14 May 2007, 10:56
One of my self bailers seems to be a super blower rather than a super sucker as when I put it down I get a pretty fountain. This is caused by the sides of the bailer being bent in. I have made several attempts to straighten them but they just go back again as soon as I turn my back. Anybody any ideas or is it a new super sucker. ??)

No Angus, the bucket is to gather together the bits which seem to fall off your boat whenever I am in the vicinity.  Using the bucket will save you having to search along the shore as at Scaling Dam.

I have eventually managed to get the ofending bailer out and straightened it out with a pair of pliers, The lump of wood didn't work as it was softer than the metal. I can now see a lot less daylight through it. We will findout at west riding if it works, I've still got the bucket in case, shouldn't need it for the bits as bernard isn't coming.
