Just back from a very enjoyable sail in the sunshine, reaching the whole length of the dam. With two 9 year old's as crew.

(Both these sites get stuck from time to time, and this is another site that is not mac friendly - in fact only works with IE)
There are several young sailors looking for a sail next weekend - I believe Mark Simpson has a list if anyone needs crew - I just spoke to a young topper sailor who is keen to sail in a N12.

N3253 (looking forward to coming last in the inlands next weekend, anyone going to dissapoint me?)
Appears to work OK in firefox too..... ;D
Ooops, correction, only works in ie on a mac.
This "incompatablity" is the small price i pay for my mac -The upside includes: lack of viruses, never having a driver issue, great engineering, longevity, resale value, fantastic design, useability, and incredible cool advertising (http://www.apple.com/getamac/ads/)
Quite a lot of which it has in common with a national 12! If Steve Jobs and Johnatan Ive had designed a dinghy...

Jo and I will certainly be there, looking forward to it.

For those attending a few phrases (at least printable ones!)
Hoo ye gannin? 'How are you?'
Hoo's ya fettle? 'How are you?'
Y'areet, hinny? 'Are you all right, kid?'
Champion. 'Very good, very well'
Bonny day the day. 'It's nice weather'
Cowld the day, mar. 'It's cold today.'
Whey aye, man. 'that's right'
Give ower, y'a kiddin. 'Come on, you're joking'
Hadaway man. 'I'm still not convinced'
Ya taakin sh**e. 'I really disagree with that'
Ootside! 'Let's settle this outside'
Hoo's the Toon gannin? 'How is the Newcastle United match progressing?'
Tara now, pet. 'Goodbye (to female)'
Fortunately I am bringing my interpreter with me. Dave is in fact from the North East despite appearances of being a Southerner.
Jane :P
Staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarboard is the same in any dialect, and for those who are geographically challenged, Scaling isn't near Newcastle it's nearer Middlesbrough - the Toon Army are somewhat further north!
Team Roly Mo
Is that anywhere near Birmingham - that is in the North isn't it?
Not from where we are sitting!
Come on Kean,
Never mind reviling us northerners, at least we speak english ;D! Come on North, bring your bateaux and join the fun,
Roger
Me I'm heading for the deep South. Is it still summer down there.
See you there.
angus
Angus,
We presently have balmy(?!)autumn days with daylight till 7.30 ish, hope it holds till sunday.
No need for lights whilst racing, look forward to seeing you and Rowan again,
Roger
Moderate winds forecast for the weekend, let's hope it stays balmy too.
Kevin
Oh the joys of working in public service when one of your staff ends up having to go to a funeral leaving you to hold the fort. The upside is as Roly Bernard has said is the chance to while away the time looking at other people's webcams and trying to pick out friends. I shall indeed look forward to the Pie Report on Monday......
;D
What a FANTASTIC weekend. Great turnout, super sailing and catering. Big big thanks to Mark and the SDSC team for making it such a great event ;D
Team Roly Mo
It was a lovely weekend. Thanks for the warm welcome and especially to Mark and Emma for persuading us to make the journey.
Results will be up tonight, but for those interested Tom and Liz narrowly beat Graham and Zoe.
Antony
Fantastic weekend that has confirmed my enthusiasm for the N12 just as it is. Thanks to Graham and Zoe for taking time to give me some tips!

An excellent weekend's sailing, 24 entries, plenty of wind, some sunshine, exciting close racing. Many thanks to everybody who made the journey and I hope you all got home safely and at a reasonable time.
Mark
Thanks again to all the visitors for making a great weekend, we hope you spread the word that sailing north of the Trent (nice to see Pauls boat even though he was not there) can be a great experience. For those that weren't there Grazz may have some pics but as my mate Bill says " You should have bin there!"
Give Ripon (v challenging water) 'n Yeadon a try this weekend coming for more Northern Fun especially Howard S's trip down memory lane
Roger
Some pictures from sunday are available in the gallery.
Cheers
