Invitations are now out ... lunch for adults (at 1430) =£15.  Lunch for children (at 1300) = £7.  All are welcome, wherever you live and whather you've sailed actively around the Thames Area or not in 2012.  Please indicate to anne@annemurch.co.uk by 7th January.

Any one interested in crewing in a Dead Cat Bounce next weekend at Ranelagh. Hopefully the snow will have cleared by then, should be a fun sail either way.

I believe the start time is 13.00 and not 12.00 as provisionally noted earlier in this thread.

A nice turnout of 9 boats launched in sunny, breezy and not too cold conditions after a short delay to allow the tide to come in over the considerable floodwater. One class champion sailing with his wife hit the tide before the start but recovered to challenge for the lead up the first leg. Another class champion, also sailing with an unfamilar crew, took to the waters in a similar gusty spot by the Putney mark half way through the race. Jon Ibbotson, with Andy Douglas crewing, sailed as serenely as was possible in the pleasant but somewhat challenging conditions and stretched out over 3 laps to a comfortable win.

Afterwards at the Thames Area lunch, which was also very well attended, outgoing Thames Area rep, Mike Day, presented the Thames Area trophy for 2012 to Graham Camm and Zoe Ballantyne allowing the trophy to take up its regular place on the Camm mantlepiece for yet another year. This was the last act of Mike and Anne's 9 year tenure running the Thames region for which many thanks were expressed. The responsibility now  falls to yours truly...and in that capacity I can confirm the one missing piece in the 2013 Thames Area calendar:

Sunday 7th July Ranelagh Summer Race, 13.00 start
