Race one report from Salcombe (courtesy of the Meadowcrofts)
Race one of Salcombe week was sailed in typically tricky Salcombe conditions. Either no wind with large gusts of force 3-4 with big lulls. Depends on whether your glass is half full or half empty. A long beat into the tide to Gerston saw John and Katy Meadowcroft gain a decent lead. A trip back through the vageries of the harbour resulted in Will and Arthur Henderson and John Thornton and Nicole Mckenna creeping up on their transom. The wind filled in on the second lap as John and Nicole took up the challenge for the lead. However the Meadowcrofts hung on to win by a small margin, with John and Nicole second and Will & Arthur 3rd.

Day 2 Report
Tricky again today with too much northwest in the wind direction for it too be classic Salcombe conditions. Keri and Little Harris led of the start line chased by John Thornton and Nicole Mckenna and Will & Arthur Henderson. John and Nicole took the lead and sailed away with John & Katy Meadowcroft steadily working their way up to 2nd. By the leeward mark it was time for John and Katy to lead and they then passed on the mantle to Will & Arthur. John & Nicole got back up to second as John & Katy hit a rock. But there was still more place changing to happen as John & Katy worked their way back into a lead that they held until the race officer shortened the course at the next mark much to their relief. Will & Arthur held off John & Nicole for 2nd.
Day 3 Report
John Thornton & Nicole Mckenna stormed to a big win in race 3 of Salcombe Week. Sailed in the best wind so far of the week the course of 171713 gave excellent reaching conditions to and from Gerston with the added bonus of sunny skies.
John & Katy Meadowcroft led at the first mark ahead of John & Nicole and they entered the bag level with Will & Athur Henderson fighting for third with Keri and Little Harris. At the end of the Bag the Hendersons slipped through and charged off down the reaches. John & Katy set about reducing the deficit but a dropped mainsheet sent them swimming.
John & Nicole then started their charge and by the time they were back in the harbour they held a slim lead which they then continued to extend to the finish. On the final beat John & Katy slipped past Will & Arthur to take second.
Looks like Meds and Katy have won the week with one race to go (3 1sts and 2 2nds) from John and Nicolle. Will and Arthur are lying 3rd.
