Hi there,
Just after some advice on Polishing please, as my final coat looks really good, except for some small dust particles that have appeared. So i am considering using wet and dry 1200 then polishing it to remove the scratches, however i have never done this so unsure which polish to use and if it will work as the finish is really good just a shame about the dust, which came from no where on my last coat!!!
So any advice on the grade of sand paper , polish and technique would greatly be appreciated as i really dont want to mess it up at this stage.
Kind regards
tim

What about
Wait until the paint has really hardened off then old, worn, 1200 W&D with a hard sanding block (to only take off the high spots) run lightly over the surface used with running water from a hose pipe. If it's a 2 pack paint, the marine polishing compounds have a bit more "bite" than T cut and give a good finish.
Absolutely no guarantees.
As all the warnings say, "try on an inconspicuous part first"
Thanks for the info , Will let you know how it went :-/. Just a gamble not to mess it up :o
Cheers
If you want you can get up to 2000 grit at car finishing places (or the bay)...
