The life of N2008 Moonshine. Design: Jack Holt modified by Dougie McDonald, designed by: Jack Holt
Just to fill in a few gaps!
Moonshine was produced as a hull by Holts and bought by Dr Sharples of Yeadon. Before she was decked Dougie McDonald visited and it was decided that she would look better a bit wider so she was jacked out a bit before the decks and thwart etc were fitted. David sailed her at Yeadon for many years before switching to a Heron and storing her in his garage roof. Somewhere around 2006 he donated her to a scout group at Reever where she was going to be put back into service. When I last saw her she had a D section mast and her original Ratsey and Lapthorn sails had been replaced by a set of Jeckels which came from N1306 I. C. U. an Alec Stone boat which has since been scrapped. Howard Chadwick
