The life of N3492 Babel Fish. Design: Numinous, designed by: Bim Daser in 2001
YW Silver National Points Trophy winning boat, Abersoch 2005, Brixham 2007 & Teignmouth 2008 and Burton Cup, Abersoch 2005 & Porthpean 2006, Graham Camm & Zoe Ballantyne.
The hull shell was built by Brett Dingwall. We built various components in our dining room and then assembled her over a very cold winter in Nigel Goodhew's garage. She's mainly a glass fibre foam sandwich hull with carbon floor, inner structure and decks. Her deck profile is modelled on Zoe's knees for maximum comfort while hiking. She has won Burton week once (Abersoch), the Burton Cup twice (Abersoch and Porthpean) and the Bloody Mary (2007).
Below is a picture of us mid-construction and the finished product.

Babel Fish now has a new home at Nottingham SC
Rigged and ready to go at Nottingham
I hadn't been sailing Babel Fish enough so sadly said goodbye and handed over to a new owner. Hopefully the move to the south coast will see a return to winning ways on the water.
