Dave Dobrijevic has made some very nice sails for the Merlin fleet including sails for classic/vintage rigs.

Have not seen anyone using them myself.  However, I enjoyed the youtube vid.
The head of the sail looks huge.  Would be interesting to see if it works.  Assuming that the headboard is 125mm that could be close to 500mm.  some video of it under sailing conditions (particularly when powered up) would be instructive.

We have been using Dynamic sails on the children's Cadets for the past two years with excellent results including a winning the 2011 Inlands and several race wins in the champs over the past couple of years. Dave is well into development classes and has his sails on a number of top Merlins. He races an Int 14 and B14 skiff. Currently we are working with him on a new design-for-lightweights spinnaker for the 420.

Dave is very helpful and his work is top-class. If you have some ideas about sails and sail development i would recommend you have a word with him

In the interest of balance Pinnell & Bax make the statistically best sails in the class taking more race wins than any other make.  Tom Stewart and Dave Wade are always happy to discuss ideas and can be found in Northampton on 01604 592808.

I've not seen the dynamic ones on the circuit and don't think they are doing so much in the merlin fleet - although happy to be proved wrong.
We are currently working with Goacher Sails on a new set of 12 sails for Dead Cat Bounce. Goachers have done wonderful things in the merlin fleet and have a fantastic set-up, up in Windermere. They are very much still in the development stage but I am sure Steve would be happy to talk through anyone elses requirements.

Personally I dont have a loft to promote, but hope there will be competition to force down prices :)

Pity the government does not collect statistics on sailmakers.  This booming(!) industry will surely pull the country out of recession!

Not sure that there is a plethora of wealthy sailmakers out there so seems likely there is little margin to erode. In fact the collapse of many lofts suggests profit margins are already very tight.

I just found this post whilst sailing the web!

DS have been making new 12 sails and are pleased to be involved in the class again, I started my racing as a young lad in 12s and Merlins before getting a little big to crew them, now sailing 14s just now.  Dynamic Sails has been around for 5 years and born from 15 years working for some of the best sail lofts in the world.  We now and have many fast designs for a large number of fleets, we specialise in development classes as well as the one design racing,

I'll be at the Dinghy show this year so if your interested in meeting up to talk about 12 sails and your rig set up I'd be happy to help

or call by the sail loft details on dynamicsails.com (//#mce_temp_url#)

thankyou for the interest DS Sails

Recently collected a new suit from Dave @ Dynamic Sails as part of our refurb of N3500.

I found Dave a really nice guy, very helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating with arranging collection.  I chose DS because he is local, other sailors at CYC have purchased Dynamic Sails, has experience with N12’s, owner and the sail maker (has great pride in his workmanship and quality of construction) along with price (competitive with other lofts).

Still to get out on the water, I do know that I’ll not be able blame the sails!
