Title: Dangly Pole
Post by: Barry on 09 Apr 2006, 07:16
N3364 Finally got got back onto the water today (hooray!) - with shiny new topsides - my first go in a N12.

A few things to sort out,  amongst which is the dangly pole - which never seemed to do the job - should I tie it directly to the clew? how tight to it?

We're at Waldringfield next weekend (in a Lark - the pink one!) - if you are wondering why were looking over your N12!

Barry,

The dangly pole is tied to the clew via the blue rope / bobble at the end of the pole.  It doesn't have to be tight and as long as you do a loop through with the bobble it should stay fixed on.

It all worked ok for me.  Try rigging up on shore - pulling the downhaul via the block / cleat should set the pole to horizontal and push out the jib.

Hi Kean

Hope the new boats going OK.

I've had the pole off to varnish that as well so on putting it together I couldn't recall if it was tight to the clew or not.

I'll have a look at the N12's at Waldingfield this weekend.
