The Chipstead National 12 fleet were joined by six visitors for
this year’s open meeting. Saturday morning brought clear blue skies
and a southerly force two.
John and Katy Meadowcroft
(N3473) started well in the first race with Frances Gifford and Sophie
Mackley (N3431) and Antony and Jo Gifford (N3447) in close pursuit. With the
shifty southerly, there were plenty of holes to avoid. During the race
there was much changing of position throughout the
fleet. The final victors were Fran
and Sophie closely followed by John and Katy with Antony and Jo
in third place.
The second race saw a change in
course and a change in fortunes with John and Katy in first place Antony
and Jo in second with Fran and Sophie in third.
In the third race the Meadowcrofts
consolidated their lead with Antony and Jo in second and Bob and Maggie
Murrell in third place
