Welcome
This section of our website is brand new and has been designed to keep you informed on everything you need to know about Burton Week.  We can provide information on accommodation, race format, training tips, preparation and gossip.  We will also be showing you pictures from Porthpean and around the country as we warm up for our National Championships.
What is Burton Week and why should you go?

Burton Week is the NTOA National Championships where we pull together twelve sailors of all ages, backgrounds and abilities for a week of water and land based activities to see who really is the best of the best.

Not just for the top end sailors the prizes are distributed throughout the fleet for various achievements.  An excellent off the water programme also throws up a few surprises.

It is a great opportunity to meet like minded individuals from around the country and improve your sailing and socialising.

How can I get the best from the week?
To have the best time you need to come with the right attitude!  Over the coming months we will bring you tips and techniques to help prepare.  If you have something you would like to share with other sailors then fill in our feedback form.
Burton Week Weighing-In Procedure.

For those of you have been to Burton Week (or almost any other championship) before will know that one of the most boring things about the first day is measuring in. This exercise definitely hurts me more than it does you so we are going to try and do it a bit differently this year. To avoid standing with your boat in a queue, edging towards the scales and possibly getting involved in a measuring rage incident please sign in with the measurer at the scales on arrival. There is not room at this venue to form a queue without blocking public access and it is a waste of everyones time.

When you sign in the measurer will enter your boat on the measuring list and you will be weighed in that order. Keep an eye on who is being measured and take your boat to the scales when the boat before you goes on the scales i.e. we only ever have one boat waiting.

Note – You will not be allowed on the scales if you do not have;

A pin to hold the mast in your boat.
A hole in the foot of the mast to put the pin through.
Bands on your mast and boom.
Min Mast Weight and Max Jib marked on your boom
Mast weight marked on you mast.
If you miss your turn you go to the end of the queue. Hopefully this way we will all get weighed-in in time for the practice race (M5 permitting).
