Ranelagh Sailing Club was founded in 1889,Click Here for the HISTORY and enjoys a superb and convenient location on the bank of the River Thames. The broad, two mile stretch of the Tideway has produces excellent and challenging sailing.

Ranelagh, considered to be one of the spiritual homes of National 12s, has produced many top sailors, including several National champions. Also most of the top designers of the class are members of Ranelagh, including Mike Jackson, Rob Peebles and Bim Daser. Additionally, many other sailors at the club have more modest aspirations.

Year-round racing is offered at Ranelagh with an appealing programme of races on Saturdays, Sunday s and Bank Holidays. Tidal conditions limit sailing in the winter to every second weekend, but in the summer we exploit the long evenings to offer midweek on-the-water training when tides allow. Class racing is offered for National Twelves and additionally Merlin Rockets, Solos and Lasers. In addition we run a number of handicap events, open meetings and special races including a charity pursuit event and a race down-river to the Tower of London and back.

Beneath the club house is berthing for up to 80 boats, offering dry, secure storage, plus limited workshop facilities.
