Why Can't You? is my 1985 Burton Cup Winning Crusader, built by Arnott Dobson for Ian Pinnell. I bought her in 2019 as an introduction to sailing - and she has proven a great boat to develop my skills in. She has been well looked after and has been sailed regularly, in mixed-fleet club racing at Carsington Water.

Lockdown allowed the opportunity to spend some time ensuring that she was looking her best. This involved completely stripping the decks to bare wood and refinishing with 10 coats of International varnish - which has resulted in her looking great, and being ready to sail.

She has a combi trailer, which has been recently serviced, relatively recent P&B top cover and functional undercover. She has an alloy mast and boom with carbon dangly pole, fixed and lifting rudders and good, watertight Elvstrom bailers. She is ready to sail with two good jibs and three mainsails (all well used, with one more recent than the other two). All rigging is in good condition, and she is rigged with a continuous kicker arrangement.

She would be a great boat for someone looking for a well built wooden boat to cherish and sail in the Admiral's cup, or for a beginner looking to try out a National 12. I am only selling her, as I have got the bug and have upgraded to a newer 12 for next season.

I have many more pictures available in this album (copy and paste the URL): - and she can be viewed by arrangement at Carsington.
