The entry form, notice of race and sailing instructions are up on the Northampton Sailing Club website. This link takes you there http://www.northamptonsailingclub.org/index.asp?selection=Event%20Detail&eid=1560
It would be great if you can let me know that you are coming. It will of course be brilliant with Fireworks, Gul prizegiving including a prize draw which if you entered a Gul event you are entered for and a disco with extra cheese. Free camping on site.
Also the last Open meeting Char and I are organising before we relocate to Suffolk!

The finale of the 2014 GUL Series will be held on Saturday 15th Nov with both Saturday and Sunday being the Northampton open meeting. The NOR and SIs will be available very soon from the What's on section of this site or from the NSC website.
We are sharing the weekend with the Larks, there will be a 12 noon briefing with 3 back to back races on the Saturday and 2 on Sunday morning.
The Gul series prize giving will be on Saturday evening at approx 6.30pm, followed by dinner.  Elaine has planned a 3 course meal for £10.50 / head but needs to know numbers by Weds 12th November.  Please either post on here or let Tom or Char know if you are coming and how many will be dining.
As we are sharing with the Larks and they do like to dress up, it would be great if everyone could make an effort and come dressed smartly for dinner or even in black tie.
Looking forward to it already.

Have we all remembered that if you enter and sail at a Gul event you are entered into a raffle to win a weekend away at a watersports hotel! Who is going to be at Hunstanton?

Sad news. Tim Tomlinson died yesterday. Tim sailed built and measured Twelves for longer than I can remember. Tim was class chairman in 1965, he aso built numerous boats in the 70's and a carbon fibre double floored design 8 this century.
Tim measured most of the P&B produced Foolishes and DCBs and I enjoyed his company on all these occasions and always came away a little wiser. I will always remember buouyancy testing the first double floored Foolish with Tim and Patrick Elcombe, we loaded the boat with weights and then tried to fill the boat with water, on the grounds that the water wouldn't stay in the boat it was decided that the boat passed but we had better review the rules on buoyancy testing!
Tim was a leading member of Middle Nene Sailing Club, where having retired from Twelve sailing he took up sailing a Flying Fifteen. I think Tim enjoyed boat maintenance as much as the sailing as anyone who knew him will testify, I doubt any other classic fifteen has as much carbon built in.
Tim leaves behind a loving family and many devoted friends.

WARNING! The entries for the Hunstanton weekend of the Gill Series has been limited to 65 boats, this includes all boats and not just Twelves. There were 69 boats last year and already there has been loads of interest from Twelve sailors, with various people who don't normally go planning to do the week.
Entries forms can be downloaded from the NWNSA website  http://www.norfolkweek.co.uk/ If you are planning on going (week or wekend) please enter as soon as possible and let us know via the forum.
You cannot enter on the day at Hunstanton, so please avoid disappointment and act now!
