Title: Jib Cleats on our Waller Foolish
Post by: ifoxwell on 01 Apr 2018, 04:43
So as much as I encourage Hannah to play the jib there are still plenty of times where it is useful to cleat the sheet. Pepsi currently has cleats mounted on top of the centre board capping but she struggles with these so what do others do?

On my boats I always had a cleat on the windward side near to the shrouds, so that the crew can cleat the jib by their side, (if they are sat up to windward), and they can use the other one if sat to leeward.
You should have ratchets blocks so that the crew can  easily play the jib when un-cleated.
