"South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club sits on a cliff top at Abersoch on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. With views out across St. Tudwals Islands and Cardigan Bay, and over Snowdonia to the North East, few places offer a more picturesque sailing venue. The Clubhouse has an idyllic position on a rock outcrop overlooking Cardigan Bay, with stunning views towards Snowdonia, St. Tudwal's Islands & the West Coast of Wales. Abersoch and the surrounding area of Cardigan Bay must be one of the most underestimated sailing areas in the country. Come and join us in a sailing venue that must rate amongst the best in the UK. Cardigan Bay was proposed as the sailing venue for the Manchester Olympic bid a few years back. SCYC has organised races since its founding in 1924 and has hosted many National, European and World Championships. The major annual dinghy events are the Annual Abersoch Dinghy Week and Abersoch Mirror Week are run from the beach. These are run separately from all other events and attract nearly 500 dinghys to the two events." |
