About the design
The Wild Front Ear was designed by Paul Oakey in 1995 and showed
it's true colours in severl Burton weeks in the last 1990s. The
design was optimised for displacement sailing with little sensitivity
to fore-aft trim. The hull sections are vee-shaped from stem
to mid length and then curves smoothly up to the transom. The
water lines are very straight forward and as narrow as possible
with bumps to meet the rise-of-floor measurement points. The
Wild Front Ear is a good all rounder.
