About the Squid

Designed by Richard Roscoe in 1959, the Squid has a fine entry, flat floors and a fairly hard bilge, with less rocker than contemporary designs. Roscoe won the Burton Week Points Trophy in 1960, sailing Squid, N1664.

The design's fine bows made it fast on a beat in rough water, but easy to bury the bow off the wind in a blow. In subsequent years the Squid 2 was developed
